Commonly asked questions

General Care & Services

What services do you offer?

We offer a comprehensive range of veterinary services, including consultations, vaccinations, health checks, acupuncture, diagnostics, surgery, dental care, preventive medicine, senior pet care and end-of-life care.

What type of pets do you treat?

We treat cats, dogs and pocket animals only. For pocket animals, these will include rabbits, hamsters, guinea pigs, chinchillas, and rodents.

Do you have any wellness packages or preventive care plans?

Yes, we offer preventive health packages that cover vaccinations, check-ups, and parasite prevention at a bundled rate. Please ask our team for details.

How can I tell if my pet is having an emergency?

Signs of an emergency include difficulty breathing, severe bleeding, inability to urinate/defecate, ingesting of toxins or severe illness or change in behaviour or consciousness. If you are unsure, please call us immediately.

How often should my pet come for a check-up?

We recommend annual health checks for adult pets, and more frequent visits for puppies, kittens and senior pets.

When should my puppy/kitten get vaccinated?

Puppies and kittens usually start their vaccines at 6–8 weeks of age and require a series of boosters until about 16 weeks. We’ll tailor a schedule to your pet’s needs.

How can I prepare my pet for surgery or anesthesia?

We’ll give you specific instructions before surgery, usually including fasting for several hours. A pre-surgery check-up will ensure your pet is safe for anesthesia.

How do I care for my senior pet?

Older pets need more frequent check-ups, regular blood tests, joint and dental care, a balanced diet and simple exercise. Early detection helps them stay comfortable and healthy.

Do indoor pets still need vaccinations and parasite prevention?

Yes. Indoor pets can still be exposed to fleas and viruses brought in from outside. Vaccinations and prevention keep them protected.

How often should my pet have dental check-ups?

At least once a year or more often for older pets. Regular check-ups and cleaning help prevent pain, gum disease and other health issues.

Appointments & Visits

Do I have to make an appointment?

We highly recommend scheduling an appointment via WhatsApp or call to minimise wait times. Walk-ins incur a surcharge and are subject to availability, as appointments and emergencies are prioritised. We will confirm your booking and a reminder will be sent before your appointment. Please notify us in advance if you need to cancel.

Can I walk in during an emergency?

Please call us if your pet has an emergency as our vet may be in surgery or attending to other urgent cases. Emergencies are prioritised, while non-critical walk-ins may wait up to 3 hours. A surcharge applies for unscheduled visits. For after-hours cases, we may refer you to a 24-hour hospital.

What if I am late for my appointment?

To ensure smooth operations and proper attention to all scheduled visits, a surcharge is applied to late appointments. Arriving on time allows our vets to dedicate sufficient time to your pet. If you anticipate being late, please let us know so we can adjust our schedule. In some cases, rescheduling or waiting for the next available slot may be necessary.

What should I bring for my pet’s first visit?

Please bring any past medical records, vaccination history, medications your pet is taking and recent lab results or reports, if any.

How long does a typical consultation take?

A standard consultation usually takes 10–20 minutes. More time may be needed for complex cases or if additional tests are required.

Do you provide house calls?

We understand some pets feel safest at home. House call services can be arranged for pets who are anxious, elderly or have mobility issues. Please contact us in advance to discuss availability and fees.

Costs & Payment

How much does a consultation cost?

Consultation fees vary depending on the type of visit (routine check-up, emergency or complex consult). Please contact us for our current rates.

Do you provide estimates before treatment?

Yes, we provide cost estimates before starting any treatment or procedure. If there are changes, we will update you and seek your approval first.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept cash, credit/debit cards and PayNow.

Do you charge extra for after-hours or emergency visits?

Emergency and after-hours visits are available but please note that additional charges apply as they require extra staff and immediate attention.

Acupuncture

What is acupuncture and is it safe for pets?

Acupuncture uses fine needles at specific points to stimulate healing, reduce pain, and improve wellbeing. When performed by trained veterinarians, it is safe and well-tolerated.

What conditions can acupuncture help with?

It can support pets with arthritis, mobility issues, chronic pain, post-surgery recovery, nerve injuries, and certain digestive or neurological conditions.

How many sessions will my pet need?

This depends on the condition. Some pets improve after 1–2 sessions, while chronic cases may need a series followed by maintenance visits.

What happens during a session?

Each session lasts about 20–40 minutes. Most pets relax during treatment, and sedation is rarely needed. Mild fatigue or soreness afterwards is possible but temporary.

Can acupuncture be combined with other treatments?

Yes. It works well alongside medications, rehabilitation, and conventional veterinary care.

Do you offer multiple-session discount or package?

We do not offer package deals, but our team can help plan a treatment schedule that's effective and cost-conscious for your pet.
